We Are
Mid Island Little League
Mid Island Little league was established in 1955 and has been a staple of the community since its inception. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our league is 100% volunteer, we have over 30 board members and over 75 coaches. Our mission is to inspire children to become the best young adults they can be through sport. Along with teaching the fundamentals to succeed on the field, we also teach discipline, teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, and many other characteristics that will help in their sport and they can use for their entire lives.
Our baseball and softball programs have a rich history and are second to none, by participating in the Little League World Series on 4 separate occasions. In 1964 we not only participated, but were crowned World Champs beating Mexico in the deciding game. Our girl’s program was one win away from being World Champs in 1982. Our boys program returned in 2006 and as recently as 2018 finishing 3rd in The United States out of over 8000 teams. We have the most World Series appearances of any little League in NY State. We also take credit for multiple Regional Appearances and dozens of State Champion appearances.
